Rules, By-laws and Conditions
FIFA and Australian Soccer Federation rules apply except for the following By-laws and Conditions.
- All players must be registered and the team Captain is responsible for the conduct of his/her players and supporters who must sit upstairs in the facility. All players and supporters must be aware of, and act upon, the Adelaide Corporate Challenge Code of Conduct.
- All referees, bibs with numbers and equipment will be supplied. There is no need for formal team uniforms (unless you wish to do so), however teams are strongly encouraged to wear colour coordinated shirts to assist referees with scoring and the issuing of fouls.
- Only sandshoes are to be worn by players unless deemed otherwise by Adelaide Corporate Challenge officials ie in the case of wet and slippery conditions. The only other time boots may be worn on an official 'sandshoe' day is if both Captains agree. Teams who refuse to conform with the agreed position will be considered 'not ready to play' and face the same penalties as for a forfeit. Players are therefore strongly advised to bring both sandshoes and boots to the game. This By-law has been instituted to encourage participation by casual 'once-a-week' players and to negate the need to buy expensive boots.
- Players may not play for more than one team on the same day unless negotiated and agreed to by both Captains and Adelaide Corporate Challenge officials.
- In terms of game rules:
- there can be no aggressive tackling (as determined by the umpire) of females at any time during mixed competitions
- the interchange of players can occur at any time, however they must tag as they substitute through the designated interchange area designated by cones
- there are to be no sliding tackles
- no off-side rule will apply. The goal keeper is not allowed outside of the goal area, nor is any player allowed inside the goal area
- at kick-offs, free kicks and corner kicks opposing players must be at least five metres from the ball
- a goal cannot be scored by an attacking team from their own half of the field; and
- goal kicks and throws must remain below shoulder height and land in the defensive half. The penalty for not doing so will be a free kick to the opposition from the centre line.
- Both team Captains must sign the scorecard at the conclusion of the game.
- The winner of the game is the team who has scored the most goals during the allocated time period. No penalty shoot outs will be used to decide the outcome of a game.
- Premiership points will be allocated as follows:
Win - 6 points, Draw - 4 points,
Loss - 2 points, Forfeit - 0 points.
- In an eight or ten team competition, play-offs will commence at the completion of round seven. A separate draw will be published for the remaining two weeks. In the case of a tied game during the play-off series, the team that finished the highest on the table at the end of round seven will be declared the winner of their respective game.
- In a competition with less than eight teams, the team with the highest number of premiership points after 9 or 10 rounds (depending on the number of teams) will be declared the winner. If two or more teams have the same number of points, then the team with the highest score difference will be the winner. (Score difference = total number of goals scored in all matches minus the number of goals scored by opposition teams.)
- If a team does not have 4 players on the pitch and ready to play within 3 minutes of the scheduled starting time, then the opposing team will be awarded one goal - if four minutes late two goals, then after five minutes the opposition Captain may claim the match on forfeit.
- If work commitments prevent fielding a team, the onus is on the Captain to contact the opposing team captain (contact number provided with the draw) at least two hours prior to the scheduled starting time as a common courtesy and then the Adelaide Corporate Challenge office on 0412 842 127, or the competition supervisor.
- Umpires will strictly enforce the send-off rule should players breach the 'Rules, By-laws and Conditions and/or the Adelaide Corporate Challenge Code of Conduct. On the first offence players will be verbally warned or cautioned by the umpire. A second warning will automatically result in a send-off and suspension from the following week's game.
- If any game(s) need to be cancelled by Adelaide Corporate Challenge due to unfavourable weather conditions ie too hot or too wet, then they will be rescheduled at a convenient time to all parties. If two teams agree not to play due to hot weather, then they will be each be awarded four points.
- In the event of finals being played, eligible players must have played at least three games during regular season.
Thank you for adhering to these 'Rules, By-laws and Conditions'.
